French Furniture Auction: The Splendor of an Era
A collection filled with intrinsic elegance

French Furniture Auction: The Splendor of an Era
Starting the year with the drive and sophistication that define us, Morton Subastas and its Saturday Auctions department open the season with a collection filled with intrinsic elegance, where artisanal craftsmanship that evokes bygone eras meets the functionality of furniture created with passion and dedication by expert artisans. Each piece is unique, reflecting the essence of diverse styles that span a vast and rich history.
All of this transforms our French furniture into true works of art, where intricate details and ornaments merge with architectural designs, enhancing and providing an environment that is not only welcoming but refined in any space where these exceptional pieces are displayed.
Throughout our 106 lots sourced from Europe, one can find outstanding furniture such as buffets, sideboards, serving cabinets, chests of drawers, and armoires, among others, all finely assembled using noble woods such as walnut and oak.
Among the highlighted lots in this remarkable section is Lot 18, a buffet, France, 20th century, Henry II style, crafted in walnut wood. Its carved decoration stands out for tangibly intertwining everyday scenes such as dances and festivities from the great medieval courts with mythological elements, including imposing beasts that recall the grandeur of a past era where myth and reality merged.
Likewise, Lot 124, a sideboard, France, 20th century, made of oak wood, captivates with a timeless design that offers practicality, elegance, and durability, distinguished by finely crafted details and decorations not only in the wood itself but also in materials such as leather and iron.
Another piece that cannot go unnoticed is Lot 169, a cabinet, France, 20th century, Henry II style, in oak wood, whose reliefs and structure reveal the essence of classical Greek influence, adorned with architectural references and mythological motifs that bring a unique character to any space.
