This edition of the auction by the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art reaffirms its vocation as a bridge between artworks of great artistic value and new collectors who will carry their stories forward.
Under the title Month of the Collections, the sale brings together works from the collections of Marie Thérèse Hermand de Arango and Ignacio “Nacho” Toscano, both key figures in the cultural promotion of Mexico.
In the section titled “Women Who Paint History”, you will find works by artists such as Irma Palacios, Sofía Bassi, Alice Rahon, Leonora Carrington, and Joy Laville, among others. These creators challenged the boundaries of their time, opening new artistic paths that redefined the intimate, the political, and the collective.
Each lot gathered here awaits the beginning of a new story.

Come to our auction room at Monte Athos 179, register and participate. There is no need for an invitation or dress code; admission is open to the public.

Call us to leave a bid for the lot you are interested in and we will do it for you or if you prefer, we will call you during the auction to make your bids by phone.

Les songes drôlatiques de Pantagruel by Salvador Dalí
In 1565, a volume of 120 engravings was published, featuring grotesque and fantastical figures inspired by the adventures of the giants Gargantua and Pantagruel—attributed to François Rabelais but in fact the work of engraver François Desprez. Fascinated by this imagery, Salvador Dalí created in 1973 a suite of twenty-five lithographs on Japanese paper—twenty-four in color and one in black and white—each signed and numbered, in a limited edition of only 250. Dalí blended gouache and felt-tip pen to bring to life phantasmagoric scenes exploring eroticism and the subconscious, influenced by the theories of Krafft-Ebing, Freud, and his own paranoiac-critical method. This rare portfolio is a brilliant encounter between Renaissance fantasy and surrealist vision—a historical gem sure to captivate even the most inquisitive collectors.
