Antiques and Books Auction

Welcome to a new edition conceived for those who understand collecting as a form of continuous discovery. “The Collector’s Cabinet: New Finds” builds upon the spirit of our previous auction, expanding it with pieces that enrich, engage in dialogue, and deepen two major collections—reaffirming that every great collection is always in the making.

On this occasion, the collection of European porcelain and furniture is strengthened with refined additions, including works by Maison Meynard and a monumental rotating clock in ormolu bronze with Sèvres porcelain—an outstanding example of the technical virtuosity and decorative sophistication of its time.

Meanwhile, the collection of a lady expands into the sculptural realm with a particularly significant New Spanish section. Highlights include an imposing Saint Michael the Archangel and a Jesus Bound to the Column, both of exquisite craftsmanship, where devotional sensitivity and artisanal mastery converge.

The militaria and decorative arts sections bring together objects destined to enhance major collections, such as a Victory Medal from the First World War and a detailed reproduction of the Galleon of San Pedro, evoking the commercial and cultural routes of the viceregal period.

The “Under the Radar” section, now led by Raquel Monteagudo, offers a renewed perspective on collecting, gathering pieces of remarkable singularity and narrative potential, ready to be integrated into new collections.

The bibliographic section is enriched with notable discoveries: an American incunabulum, a handwritten reproduction of the Aubin Codex, and a first edition by Pablo Neruda—tracing a journey through the written memory from the dawn of printing in the Americas to the voice of one of the great authors of the siglo XX.

Above all, this auction is an invitation to continue collecting as a pursuit of discovery, study, and delight—bringing together pieces that not only decorate, but tell stories and project their value into the future.
